Poker pro Hoyt Corkins won the $2,500 No Limit Hold'em Six-Handed event at the 2007 World Series of Poker tournament, fifteen years after winning his first title. He won his first bracelet back in 1992 in a $5,000 pot-limit Omaha event.

Event #30, $2,500 No Limit Hold'em Six-Handed ended Wednesday night with Hoyt Corkins winning $515,065 in prize money and his second WSOP bracelet. In 1992 he got $96,000 for winning the event. He beat 847 players in the event, almost ten times as many as in 1992 when he only had 87 opponents.

Corkins dominated the three-day tournament, being the chip leader from the first day forward. Despite talented players like Alan Sass and Terrence Chan, nothing could stop Corkins from winning his second WSOP bracelet.

Corkins, with the nickname ?the Alabama Cowboy?, is known for his black cowboy hat and mirrored shades. He quit the poker circuit in the mid-90s and didn?t return to the poker scene until eight years later, after the so-called poker boom. Since he reemerged, Corkins has won the World Poker Tour (WPT) event in 2003, where he took home $1,089,200. Altogether, he has won over $2.5 million in prize money in live tournaments.

Now Corkins can add a second WSOP bracelet to his winning. In an interview with Pokerlistings.com, Corkins said, ?Actually this one [the second bracelet] is a lot better even though I was probably more excited about the first. I guess now that I'm older and more of an established pro, you're expected to do things and win gold bracelets. It's a big thrill to have two."
