I started out leaving for Las Vegas on April 17th, 2008!! It was a dream come true. I am only 22, but going to Vegas has been a dream of mine for a long time. I love the big city life and the wild life of living on the edge. When I first got to Vegas I was in awe at the sites. First impression of the airport was crazy. There was slot machines as I got off the plane. It was incredible!! Definately felt like Vegas.

I ended up getting a taxi and headed straight for Ceasars Palace!! The sites as I was riding were crazy. I was finally there, in Las Vegas! We arrive at Ceasars, get our luggage, and go to ojavascript:void(0)ur room. It was early in the day and everyone was already living the high life. The first thing I did was met up with an online friend that I invited to Vegas. Connie- my girlfriend. Jim- online friend from AP. Connie, Jim, Jim?s friend, and I decided to explore Vegas on our first night there. It was exciting and I never imagined how big some of the things I saw were. The following day was the WSOP Advanced Academy early in the morning, so we needed our rest. The academy was a good experience. They had a lot of good things to talk about. I already knew most of what they had to say, but I tried my best to throw in their play with mine, and mix it up a bit. I learned from pros such as Andy Bloch, Annie Duke, Howard Lederer, Paul Wasicka, Phil Gordon, and the famous special agent of the FBI, Joe Navarro. It was awesome finally meeting the players I watch on TV on a daily basis. They are really fantastic players, and great people in general. They give off this vibe of good people to be around. It's really great. Playing live and online is a HUGE difference. I can't explain the way it feels. My nerves were going crazy, and sometimes I didn't feel as confident in the moves that I would make that I would normally make online. It was one hell of an experience. I played in 9 live big events. I met some of the richest poker players there are. I played with Glen Chorney, a 22 year old just like me, that recently took down the Monte Carlo tournament 6 days prior to being in Vegas. He won 3.2 million that day and was playing a $1500 buy in in Vegas. We played on the same table for over 6 hours. What a fascinating player. Reminded me a lot of myself. I played next to Jerry Yang and got to talk personally some the whole poker team from Ultimate Bet. What a fine bunch of players that team is. In the 9 tournaments I played it was just ABC poker and not getting anything for cards. I got AA once in 9 tournaments and 9 10 busted me. I never saw KK and I couldn't even win with JJ vs 10 10 preflop late in the tournament, but ya know, that's poker. The main event for Ceasars I sat with a crazy group of players to start with. "The Grinder", Mike Mizrachi, was at my first table and I was lucky enough to have him take me out with 99 preflop against my AQ. It was a sad day indeed, but he was getting lucky, and his cards were holding. Living and breathing poker for 2 weeks straight living the high life in Las Vegas is a great experience, but when you aren't winning it can be a stressful disappointing experience, but you take it all in because you know if you keep playing good poker, your time will come. As I know my time will come. I am 22 years old, been playing poker professionally for 11 months, I've made a hell of a lot of money from a $50 deposit and my journey will continue! I will keep growing to become one of the best poker players known in the world, and I am confident of that!! _Trevor_ From Absolute Poker!!! Keep your head high and your stacks higher!! Thank you.
