Just got back from yhe WPT in Reno. It was my first time to Reno. The Grand Sierra was a real nice place. I went a couple days early to get tuned up. I made 300 in a small cash game and won a single table satellite for 600. When the main event started there were 261 players. I had Chad Brown at my table and a couple of internet players that I didn't know their names. The first 4 levels were pretty uneventful. I had pocket jacks 3 times and they never held up. 2 other guys at the table had the same hand 5 times between them and they all won at the end. Nevertheless, I still picked up some pots and had managed to build my stack from 15,000 up to 19,000. I turned a flush with K-J of diamonds against a pre-flop raiser to win a nice pot. Then we stopped for dinner break. We only lost 2 players form our table in 6 hours.

Back from the dinner break my table got broken down and we all had to move to other tables. I sat down with my 18,300. T.J. Cloutier was at my new table. There were 3 or 4 at the table with 60,000 to 100,000 in chips. The first 2 hours I had really bad cards and most pots were getting raised anyway. I finally picked up A-10 in late position (on the button) and raised. The big blind called. The flop came off A-7-5. I bet 3/4 the pot and he called. A nine on the turn and I tried 1 more half pot sized bet. he called again. A queen on the river. Now he bet out. It was a small bet that smelled like a value bet but the pot was laying me 3 to 1 if he had a worse ace, so I called. He had A-Q and was slow playing it the whole way. After a bunch of folding hands later I pick up A-K in early position. I raise and only the small blind calls me. The flop comes 10-5-3. Innocent enough, so I make a continuation bet. She calls and the turn pairs the 5. We both check. The river is a King and she comes out betting. I consider raising her as that card really helped my hand, but something smelled fishy. So I just called. She wins with 7-5. Ouch. I haven't won a single pot at this table. I'm getting real low on chips now and need to double up. I sit a couple more rounds with nothing worth playing. when I see J-Q suited, I shove in. I'm down to 6 big blinds. I get called by A-Q and she wins when I brick the board. That table change was a killer, I never won a single hand. The worse part was my mom had flown in and stood on the rail by my second table to watch. Watch me never win a hand that is. What a let-down for me. Went out 129th place. Paid 27

So we spent the next 2 days just seeing the sites. We drove up in the mountains and to Lake Tahoe. How beautiful that was!! I walked back down to the tournament area the next day. There was only 1 player from my table that was left. I couldn't believe it because there were so many chips in play at my table. She ended up getting knocked out in 30th. All these tournaments have been an amazing experience for me. They are a really long hard grind but fun as hell too. I have gained some valuable knowledge that I'm sure will pay off in the future. Thanks a million Absolute Poker and I WILL BE BACK.
