Greg Hopkins survived a slow race to win Event #37, $2,000 Pot Limit Hold 'Em yesterday. Winning his first WSOP bracelet, Hopkins cashed $269,707. He started in second place going into the final table, which began with Yuval Bronshtein on top, who just finished 3rd.Final Standings and Payouts, Event #37:

And in other WSOP News: Event #39 of the 2007 WSOP, the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event, may be the most anticipated tournament in Vegas, with the high buy-in and mixed-game format guaranteeing a field, full of poker's biggest names. Scheduled to run for five days, the event drew 148 players, beating last year's turnout of 143, when David Reese claimed the first-ever bracelet in the event.
21 players were eliminated on the first day of play. Notable eliminations included Josh Arieh, Jeffrey Lisandro, Nick Schulman, Sam Farha, Mark Vos and 10-time bracelet winner Johnny Chan. Andy Black, Lyle Berman and David Pham also fell on Day 1. Meanwhile, Phil Ivey, Gavin Smith, Barry Greenstein and others moved forward to challenge Elezra on Day 2.
