All Africa Poker Tournament continues to grow. In the ninth tournament, which was hosted at Piggs Peak Hotel and Casino in Swaziland, a total of 120 players participated. That is 30 more than in the previous tournament, which was held in February.
The winner of the ninth All Africa Poker Tournament was 26-year-old Claude Sacks. After thirty hours of poker where he had to fight back after losing much of his chip stack, and heads-up play against Neville Eber, a former All Africa finalist, Sacks took home R1 million. He also won a seat in the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event in July, where he will join Neville Eber, Darryn van Heerden, Ray Rahme and Ryan Brauer as part of the Team All Africa Poker.
The tenth All Africa Poker Tournament is scheduled for August 16-18, also at the Piggs Peak. In that tournament, which will be run in a Freeze-Out format, the prize pool is over 2 million rand. The top 10 finalists will win a seat in the Sun City Million Dollar Poker Challenge taking place in September.
The All Africa Poker Tournament is getting more and more popular so to make sure they get a seat in the tenth tournament in August, players are advised to register early.
