Router Config

Since you are using a router in conjunction with your internet connection, it is likely that the hardware Firewall the router provides is blocking ports necessary for Absolute Poker to function.

A good test to see if the router firewall is the problem is to connect your PC directly to the broadband modem and bypass the router.

Please note that in most cases, the easiest and most effective way to solve this issue is simply to disable the hardware Firewall included with your router. You will need to access your router's configuration in order to do this, as well as allow access to the necessary ports if you wish to continue using the hardware Firewall. You will still be able to utilize a software Firewall, as long as it is set up to correctly allow Absolute Pokers program components.

We have provided Absolute Poker's port information below.
Please perform the following steps in order to enable the necessary port access on your router. Please understand that the wide variety of router brands/models means that we can only give general instructions and the exact methods of accessing your router configuration may be slightly different.

First, you must access your router's configuration via the local IP of your router. To determine the local IP of your router, click "Start" on your taskbar, then click "Run" - you will be met with a DOS prompt. From here, type "ipconfig" and click OK. This will show you a set of numbers; the line named "Default Gateway" will show you the local IP of the router.

With this information on hand, open your web browser, and enter the IP gateway you acquired; enter it into the address bar, just as you would access any other website.

This will get you into the router login screen. Typically if you have never logged into your router previously, the user name will be "Admin" or "Administrator" and the password will be the same, or blank; however this will vary depending on the brand/model. The best way to determine the login information is to consult the manual that came with your router. If you do not have either of those, then consult the webpage for the manufacturer your router.

If you are having troubles, below is a list of common router brands/models with the accompanying default logins, passwords, and websites.

Once you are able to login to your router's configuration webpage, you will need to allow access to the following ports: (this is commonly labeled port forwarding)

7000 ~ 7200 (the entire range), 6982, 8002, 8004, 8006, 8012, 8014, 8016, 8021, 8022, 8030, 8055, 8081.
