Frequently Asked QuestionsA personal touch to customer support is an Absolute priority at Absolute Poker.
Absolute Poker offers the most comprehensive tournament structure available on the net. We offer both single and multi-table tournaments with variations of each. We also offer Private Tournaments where our most loyalplayers can set up their own online poker tournament structure inviting the players of their choice.
You can view all online poker tournaments by clicking on Tournaments in the Main Lobby. You can view all tournaments in progress, registering, or recently completed. Simply click on each individual tournament for further details.
Under the "Tournament" tab, click on the tournament that you want to register for. If you are not already signed in, you will need to do so at this point.
To receive information on an online poker tournament that has been completed, simply click on the tournament game listing from the Tournament Lobby. In doing so, you can see the results of the online poker tournament until pulled from the listing.
In the case of a server crash, the hands that were in play during the crash as well as the player's chip count will be recovered and set to the initial setting prior to the start of the hand.
Yes, you can play in both an online poker tournament as well as a ring game simultaneously. However, out of respect for other players please be sure to not delay the speed of the online poker games. In the rare event, when it is impossible to restore a tournament after the crash, the tournament will be canceled and the unclaimed portion of the prize pool will be equally divided among all the remaining poker players.
Private Tournaments are Single Table tournaments where 9 players can play exclusively with each other. If you have made a deposit with Absolute Poker, you may request to join private tournament groups. Whether you have been invited or not, it is up to the VIP of each group to approve or decline requests for entry. To create your own private tournament, you must be a VIP. VIPs are our most loyal and active real money players who have accumulated at least 10,000 ARPs. VIPs have the ability to create the private poker tournament groups as well as approve or decline those players who have requested to join each group.
A satellite is a smaller buy-in tournament in which you can win an entry into a larger buy-in tournament. For example, if you won a $2 satellite tournament that had at least 10 entrants, your prize would be a $20 entry into a $20 buy-in tournament. In Single Table tournaments, instead of distributing the prize pool over the top 3 finishers as done in standard tournaments with 9 entrants, the prize is pooled and awarded to first place only. In a Multi Table tournament with 20 entrants, 2 x $20 tournament buy-in entries would be awarded. If there are not enough people to generate a prize pool equal to the buy in of the larger event, cash will be awarded instead. |
