Tips with Serinda Swan

We here at Absolute Poker have seen Ms. Swan come full circle with her poker game. Playing on the site and hanging out with the likes of WSOP bracelet winners will turn any excited poker player into a winner. I don’t know about you, but we think hanging out playing Chinese Poker and 1/2 No Limit Hold’em with Phil Hellmuth is a great start. To help newer players out we ask Serinda to give us 3 quick tips that she has learned on her rollercoaster ride of poker training.
- Always, Always pay attention at the tables, especially playing online because there are many fewer tells. In this instance betting patterns tell a lot. Keeping notes also helps.
- Position Position Position. I learned very fast from Mark Seif the importance of this concept. If you act with a marginal hand without knowing what your other opponents could be on then you are setting yourself up for disaster and a dwindled chip stack.
- Play the Player. For me when I play live it is much easier for me to find one player and set an image against him and profit. Many times, believe it or not, people try to help me save money against them. After the 3rd heart comes on the turn they overbet and then show me saying, “see I tried to save you money”. This is what I love about some guys, I think they think now there will be chemistry, but on the contrary I am laying traps. One time I did this exact thing in the Bahamas when a guy overbet a flush after telling me the exact same thing on the river. What he didn’t know is my flopped 2 pair had just improved on the river to a full house. His overbet and cocky attitude cost him $500 and a bit of his dignity.

Well last time I wrote a blog I talked about my horrible trip down there and all the crazy stuff that happened to me. I also left it off at telling you guys that the trip back was just as eventful, with Phil Hellmuth not only paying some lady $500 so that I could sit in first class I also had a coffee filled with baileys spilt on me within the first 10 minutes of the flight. I have to say this was nothing compared to the vomit of the last trip that I had to endure! It smelt much nicer and Phil was very apologetic! We ended up having a Chinese poker tourney on the plane, which he schooled me at! I have never seen someone get so lucky in my cards! (Maybe that’s why he is 11 bracelet winner and I’m the Absolute Poker spokes person!) If there was a WSOP bracelet for Chinese poker he would have won it! Anyways I did end up leaving the plane with the wonderful smell of baileys, amazing tips for Chinese poker, and a much more relaxed feeling with all the extra leg room up in first class (I think that I am going to have to get that written into my contract!!! lol) Anyways all in all I had an amazing time in Aruba. It was just such a great event with everything so well organized and everyone having so much fun in the sun, I will definitely be going again next year! I did get to play poker there quite a bit and learned something that I didn’t know, like the proper pre flop betting. See that’s my problem, I always feel like my betting gives away the fact that I have only been playing for a year now. I need to know certain ways to bet to cover that up... or gain the knowledge of the game better so that I don’t have to cover it up I just know it. I’m off to Vegas this weekend which will be filled with lots of 1/2 NL games , maybe some slots, and definitely some Black Jack for my good friend Poker Ho and the original MIT team... you know who you are! I will let you guys know how Vegas went! SerindaLabels: serinda swan news
