Amsterdam CACTuesday, April 15, 2008 / posted by Poker Star @ 3:17 PM Let's start from the beginning, I left for amsterdam on Tuesday night and arrived here Wednesday night just in time to see everyone leaving for dinner. As it is a 9 hour difference (currently 12:00pm here and 3:00am Vancouver time) I am quite tired, and last night didn't help. After a great day at the conference we headed to the world famous Supper Club. It is quite an experience, when you first walk in after you take off your shoes you are escorted to your bed, yes bed! There are no tables just beds. We didn't know what to expect, especially when our first course came with a rubber glove...for eating with, we realized after some crude jokes. It seemed quite odd lying on beds eating each course half an hour apart, but after awhile you started to realize why it has its reputation. You see while you are waiting for your food you keeping drinking and you start to notice the world famous aroma of Amsterdam filling the restaurant. You realize that there is no where you would rather be than lying in a giant bed with food being brought to you! It's brilliant. Whether you partake in the smoking of the "marajoowanna" or not you seem to have an uncontrollable case of the giggles by the end of the night and even though you have just eaten dinner you can't wait to get back to your hotel room and raid the minibar! This morning i feel slightly hazy, whether its the jet-lag or the loss of brain cells from last night, either way I am going to have to pull myself together for the party of a century tonight at The Mansion tonight... where something very special will happen... I can't tell you now but in my blog tomorrow I will fill you in... xoxo
