The Best Damn Poker Tournament

This week, I was in Temecula playing at the Pechanga Hotel and Casino. I was there for the taping of "The Best Damn Poker Tournament": a competition between two teams headed by Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth.

The show is based on a bet between the two of them that they could each pick a 9 player team to battle against each other till there was only one player left. The winning team would get a trip to the next Aruba Poker classic and the winner of the whole tournament gets a seat to the 2008 WSOP main event.
So, as you could guess, everyone was a little excited. However, on the first day of taping we found out the Chip Reese had passed away in his sleep from pneumonia the previous night. It was a huge blow to the poker world and it was felt on set that day to the fullest.

I can’t tell you too much about the show otherwise you won’t go watch it for yourself! Let me just say that I have made you guys proud with some of the moves that I made! Plus, I’m going to watch it myself so I can see what the other players hole cards were and whether or not they were actually really good plays or not!

It will air some in January, next year. Expect to see players such as Debo, Sully from Godsmack, Ian Scott from Anthrax, Jennifer Tilly, and a few other celebrities that you will have to see to believe (one was in Seinfeld and the other has stared in many feature films!)
All in all it was an amazing trip, see you guys on Sunday!
