"New to the game? NO problem. Take a minute to learn the rules of single table tournament action."
Unless specified as a play-money tournament, all buy-in fees and entry fee requirements must be met before a player is eligible to enter a single table online poker tournament. This must take place before the start of each event.
Once 9 players have registered and taken their seats, all Texas Holdem and Omaha poker strategy tournaments start automatically. Seven registered and seated players are required to automatically start a Seven Card Stud poker strategy tournament.
The online poker tournament will end once one player has won all the chips. No additional buy-ins are allowed after a player has made their first buy-in. Once a player has lost all their chips, they are automatically eliminated from the online poker strategy tournament.
With each buy-in poker tournament Absolute Poker offers, the prize pool will always be the total buy-ins multiplied by the number of players, with the top three finishers receiving approximately 50%, 30%, and 20% respectively. See example below:
The entry fee takes the place of the rake.
All players in standard tournaments will start with 1000 tournament chips. Players in No-Limit and Pot-Limit tournaments will start with 1500 tournament chips. Note that tournament chips have no monetary value.
After every 10 games played, the limits, blinds, and bets rise according to the exact schedules.
Each of the first seven levels in Texas Holdem or Omaha will last 10 games. The final (8th) level continues until the winner is declared. Seven Card Stud plays up to 10 levels.
To start each online poker strategy tournament, each player is dealt one card face up and the player with the highest card receives the dealer button for the first hand. A tie in high card is settled by suits based on the following order: spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs.
During Heads-up (One-on-One) the small blind has the button and acts first before the flop when playing Texas Holdem or Omaha poker tournaments.
There is a maximum of three raises, or a total of four bets per round. When only two players remain, a maximum of five raises or six bets are allowed.
To ensure the big blind is not missed by the next player in order, if the player in the small blind is eliminated, the button will not advance when playing Texas Holdem or Omaha poker tournaments. If a player who is the big blind is eliminated, the button moves and one player receives the benefit of not posting the big blind for that round. All players have an equal opportunity to benefit from this scenario.
No breaks occur in single table tournaments, and an online poker strategy tournament will continue without delay until one player has won all the chips and been announced the online poker tournament winner.
If more than one player is eliminated during the same hand, the player who started the hand with the most chips will be placed higher. If the players started the hand with an equal amount of chips, they will tie for the position. In the event that two or more players tie for a position, the prizes will be equally distributed among them. For example, if two players tie for 2nd place, each player will receive 50% of the 2nd place prize and 50% of the 3rd place prize.
No soft playing should occur. No exceptions.
Players who win 2 or more Super Satellite entries through a Single Table Satellite will be awarded the buy-in value of the prize in Tournament Dollars for each subsequent entry.
Play continues until a player has lost all their chips or has been declared the tournament winner.
