Never give out your account information to anyone

At Absolute Poker we strive to do everything we can to protect our players from potential fraud. Unfortunately, identity theft can occur both online or offline and anyone can be a target. Protecting your sensitive personal information should be an important concern for anyone that uses the internet, especially people that are involved in online transactions. The best defense is to simply know the facts about what we will and will not ask for.

Absolute Poker representatives will rarely contact you on the game tables

Con artists may attempt to get information about your account by offering you something (money, access to special tournaments, etc) while posing as an Absolute Poker representative.

These fraudsters might try to fool you by using misleading usernames like "APADMIN" or "SYSADMIN". The only legitimate Absolute Poker representative that might contact you is the moderator that polices in-game abuse, who uses the username "CHATMANAGER".

Once again: Never give out your account information or password

We will not ask you for this information simply because obtaining this information is never necessary.

If someone does ask you for your personal or account information (including bank account, NETeller, or credit card data), please refuse their request and immediately report the incident to support@absolutepoker.com.

Absolute Poker's support team can assist you without requiring your personal information. All you need to include is your player Username (email address) with your correspondence.

Be aware of external spoof sites

Nowhere on our main website will you be asked to provide sensitive personal information. The only exception is our site devoted to affiliates located at http://affiliates.absolutepoker.com/. This site allows you to create a login if you become an affiliate, but is not related to your game account information (login/password). If you are ever prompted to release sensitive information on any external site, do not supply it. Please send any unauthorized requests to security@absolutepoker.com so that we can investigate.

Trojans, viruses, and worms

Trojans, viruses, and worms are a concern for anyone that uses the internet. For online poker players, this concern will probably carry over to a specific, highly sensitive topic: your login and password.

It should be understood that these types of threats can enter into your computer a number of ways, the most common being: clicking on pop-up windows, opening unsafe e-mails, and downloading unsafe programs. Please note that these threats cannot enter your computer by connecting to Absolute Poker or downloading our game software.

Running firewall and antivirus software will help protect you from these threats, as long as you keep them updated. You can obtain free software easily through various reputable download sites.
