Well not everyone, but a lot of people are playing online poker games and there is no end in site. Looking back 10 years ago when I first learned to play poker I only used the internet for emailing and perhaps the odd web surfing. As the years proceeded I began to notice a few sites offering online poker games. Questioning the security and integrity of these fledgling sites I steered away from playing online poker games. I do remember it being quite difficult to learn to play some of the more exotic (or at least what I consider exotic) online poker games at smaller sites because of the limited amount of players. Always the Holdem fan, I did try a few hands of 7 card stud and Omaha but Texas Holdem by far is my choice above all other online poker games. Winning is never guaranteed of course and that is always something to consider when playing for money. Challenge and skill combine to make online poker games fun to play. Anonymity is also a key factor attributing to why poker players tend to leave the brick and mortar casinos in search of online poker games. You can play online poker games anywhere and everywhere and often this adds personalized comfort. Some poker players find it easier to relax and even play online poker games better from home, or work, than they would at a land-based poker room.

Although there are many contributing factors for the massive participation in online poker games, the existence of such games are simply the result of a bigger trend. Society in general seeks instant gratification and we are living in a world where we have massive amounts of information at our finger tips. Online poker games represent in some ways the current trends. Why leave the comfort of your home and venture to the poker room when you can play online poker games? Perhaps this question is already answered by the millions of people playing online poker games from work, home, and wherever else they choose.
