"New to the game? NO problem. Take a minute to learn the rules of multi table tournament action."
Please see the Tournament Lobby for all online poker tournament schedules and start times.
Upon entering the table, you will be randomly assigned to a seat and will not be allowed to change your seat.
If more than one player is eliminated during the same hand, the player who started the hand with the most chips will be placed higher. If the players started the hand with an equal amount of chips, they will tie for the position. In the event that two or more players tie for a position, the prizes will be equally distributed among them. For example, if two players tie for 4th place, each player will receive 50% of the 2nd place prize and 50% of the 3rd place prize.
When two players remain, the button will post the small blind, and act first on the opening round.
Disconnects
By participating in an online poker strategy tournament, a player accepts the risk of Internet disconnection due to problems with the connection between their computer and the servers; lag or freeze; or other problems associated with the player's computer. Absolute Poker does not accept any responsibility for a player disconnect except in the case of a server crash.
If a player times out during a hand, whether connected or disconnected, the hand will be folded.
If a player is not connected before a hand starts, he or she will be dealt cards, a blind or an ante will be posted, and then a hand will be folded automatically.
A bet and three raises are permitted in structured limit tournaments. There is no raise cap in pot-limit and no-limit tournaments.
Each player will be allocated a time bank that allows the player extra time to make a decision. The time bank depletes as it is used throughout the online poker tournament. If a player elects to use his or her time bank, other players at the table will be notified.
As players are eliminated from the online poker tournament, the software may balance tables to ensure all tables have an equal number (or as close as possible) of active players. The balancing of tables is done randomly and, although rare, may result in a player having to post several big blinds in a row. When nine players remain in a Texas Holdem or Omaha poker tournament, or eight players remain in a Seven Card Stud tournament, all players are brought together at the "final table."
Prizes will be awarded as stated in the Tournament Lobby.
In the event where a tournament crashes:
If # of entries is equal than # of remaining players (none of the participating players has been knocked out) at the time of the crash, then everyone gets back their buyin + fee.
If # of entries is not equal than # of remaining players (at least one player has been knocked out) at the time of the crash, then
50% of the tourney's prize pool is distributed evenly among the remaining players
The other 50% is also distributed to the remaining players, but the amount paid to each player is based on the size of your chip stack. For example:
If there are 3 players left in a tourney where player 1 has $5,000 in chips, player 2 has $4,000 in chips, and player 3 has $1,000 in chips:
*In this case, player 1 will be paid 50% of the remaining prize pool while player 2 gets 40% and player 3 gets 10%.
Observers are welcome and are expected to use the chat responsibly.
No discussion of a hand is allowed during that hand.
No soft playing should occur. No exceptions.
Once one player has won all the chips, the online poker tournament will officially end.
Un-registration. A player can un-register up until 10 minutes prior to the start of an online poker strategy tournament. Players who have won their seats through a satellite cannot un-register.
Players who win 2 or more Super Satellite entries through a Multi Table Satellite will be awarded the buy-in value of the prize in Tournament Dollars for each subsequent entry.
In case of disputes, all Absolute Poker management decisions will be final.
