Hi from Hawaii

Monday, May 5, 2008 / posted by Poker Star @ 6:09 AM
I am just about to leave Hawaii in about 2 hours (really really early for the plane!).

It’s the most beautiful weather here and I don’t want to leave. You see Vancouver had a snow storm while I was away and the reports are that it’s not any better now.

I spent the past week traveling between the islands of Maui and Oahu. It was my sister’s 25th birthday, so we decided to celebrate in style.

My sister and I have a long standing tradition of driving seven hours each summer to the Gorge to go see Dave Matthew's play. This year. I found out that he would be playing a special concert in Hawaii.

Needless to say - we had to go! I surprised my sister with a ticket and a vacation away... We both needed it. The concert was amazing. He played for about an hour then Jack Johnson came on and closed the show.

It was one of the best concerts that I have ever seen. I have the funniest picture of my sister and me standing in the rain waiting for Jack to come back out for his encore. I will try and post some pictures from this trip in my gallery.

Then it was off to Maui for five days to go relax at the Four Seasons. The first day was our relaxing day: we spent a day at the spa.

(By the way - if you’re ever in Hawaii, you need to go to this hotel. Not only for the amazing views and hotel but the spa...OMG! I have been to a lot of spas and this is - by far - the most amazing!)

The next few days were spent lying by the pool, ATVing, and hiking up to waterfalls and rope swinging into the lagoon below ( I know - rough life!) but as soon as I get back, its right back to work.

This weekend, I will be hosting the CAC convention for UltimateBet with Phil Hellmuth. It should be a great time. I just got back from one in Toronto that was a blast. Then starting Monday, I have booked a role on Psych - a television show on Sunday nights. I will let you know when its going to be on... I’m so excited!

well look for me on AP and say hi...

love to know what you guys think of my blog.... I have never really written them before and would love some feedback on what you guys would like to hear about...

all the best

Issues when I Fly

Friday, April 18, 2008 / posted by Poker Star @ 12:12 PM
So there seems to always be a bit of an issue when i fly... wether its getting robbed in miami while i sleep, vomited on in the plane while traveling to Aruba or having my flight from amsterdam cancelled making me miss my connecting flight in heathrow. Only to then to think i am the luckiest person in the world because the airline found me another flight leaving two hours later and its a direct flight ! then i find out that our pilot is sick and they are having a shortage of available pilots so they are flying one in from london... yes flying one in! right now i am stuck on our plane and i looks like this will no be remedied in the near future. We just got the news that our pilot has just boarded his plane and is on his hour long plane ride here, with an estimated time of arrival being in the next two+ hours...FUN!!!! At least i have a new Nintendo DS and brain challenge game that i received from one of our lovely affiliates!!! i will try and make up for the brain-cells that i lost along this trip!

well i might as well use this time to recap the past few days.... after the adventures of the past night i decided that i night in might be in order. I went our to this great dinner at The Mansion that night to not only celebrate a co workers birthday but also his engagement! It was a beautiful night... I left the party a bit early because the next day was my only chance to see the city. I woke up early and decided to go shopping first.... go figure! their stores there are quite good but the architecture of the city makes you just want to walk around and take pictures... after a few hours of that i was a bit tired so i decided to go on one of the canal boat tours. It was amazing, i would recommend it to anyone that was planning on traveling there. Its just a great way to see the city and from such a unique point of view. Anyways the tourist part of me throughly enjoyed it.

Hopefully i will be out of here soon...keeps your fingers crossed for me!
