Rock stars, parties, and beaches!

Friday, October 12, 2007 / posted by Poker Star @ 4:21 PM
This past trip to Aruba for the 2007 Ultimate Bet Aruba Poker Classic was amazing! There were rock stars, poker legends, and the best parties ever! The first night started out fantastic with an impressive white party, which was held on the pool deck with live music and open bars. There were probably more than 10 bars in the party serving everything from champagne to Grey Goose Martinis! Needless to say the night was a great opener to what was in store for us. The next day was very relaxing; I just got to hang out on the beautiful beach. Later that night was a dinner with a few of the players (namely 11 time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth). It was a great social get together before the beginning of the tournament the next day; needless to say this was a bit of an early night. I also packed it in early because it was my big photo shoot in the morning too so I needed my beauty sleep! The next morning was bright and I arrived early at the spa to get hair and make up for the shoot and bluff magazine was there to film a behind the scenes for their website and AP's, so make sure you guys look for that! So the days were filled with shoots and beach time, with a few extra segments for bluff, and the nights were all poker and parties. On Friday night a group of us had a friendly game of 1 2 no limit. There was Scott Ian of the band Anthrax and his amazingly talented fiancé pearl (Meatloaf's daughter) who preformed for us live! Phil Hellmuth was also in attendance. There were some great hands played that night. I actually won some money! It was great! I think that might have had something to do with the fact that Phil was helping the whole time. The next night was Phil’s private penthouse party where he personally bought 30 bottles of Dom and 7 of Crystal (all they had on the island!!!) That night was such a blast as Pearl and Scott preformed for an amazed audience and I learnt a few amazing card tricks! There were stories from that night swirling around the tournament the next day ( from people going in the hot tub to Phil and Joe Rietmans dance off!) All in all the trip was amazing with the winner of the tournament taking home $800,000.

Congrats to all who played and I hope to see you and more next year!

xoxo
