I got a new car! It was about time really as I'd had the last one since I was 18 and well, it really was knackered. So off I trotted to find a shiny new one (well, 2nd hand but still) and found a beautiful Seat Leon S at a reasonable price. It's a metallic burgundy, got a 1.6 l "charged" engine and gives a new sense of security compared to its predecessor, which felt like driving an egg-box around at 70 mph. However, I am now as over-protective as a worried mother and scowl at people when they come to close and hiss at Duncan whenever he dares to drive it.

Otherwise, I have been mentally gearing up for the WSOP. I can't believe it's come around so quickly - I'm flying in just TWO DAYS... aarrrggh! I'm playing the first $1500 event over the weekend, and so am allowing a couple of days of queuing at the Rio in order to register and so on. I'm so excited but also a little bit terrified as none of the British contingent are getting out there 'til later on, and most importantly my mentor and coach Annie is not getting out there 'til a week later so am gonna be all lonesome. Wish Duncan could come with me, but sadly he can only take two weeks off work so isn't coming out until the 20th. I'm gonna go and pack and stop being such a big girl...
