Badbeat at $100 tournament

Tuesday, July 10, 2007 / posted by Poker Star @ 4:24 PM

Had A9 in big blind. Everyone folded except for small blind who raised me. He had raised too many times before so I thought it was a regular steal and called. The flop came AT9 rainbow and he raised again. I re-raised back and he went allin and I called. He had AJ and the turn was an 8 and the river a Q and I was out :(

Behind-Ahead Big-Behind Big

/ posted by Poker Star @ 4:22 PM
So i'm trying to build a $10 dollar bonus into something that I can work with. I'm only playing the 5cent 10cent NL until I'm able to move up to the next level, I have been playing well and doubled my money in one night. Last night I bought in for $4 at a six handed table. I was up about $1.15 when I was dealt JJ on the button. I raised to .40 and a really aggressive new player raised to $2.40 from the sb so I pushed all in. He called with AA, i'm way behind but the flop comes 7 6 J giving me trips and way ahead, excitement didn't last long though as the turn was a Ace and the river a 7 giving him the better boat. Still have $15 to work with but that 25% hit was a tough one to take.

Hello

I hope this entertains you as much as it hurt me when it happened.

My worst bad beat came while playing a WSOP Satellite in Atlantic City New Jersey.
It was about five hours into a Super Satellite for the WSOP Circuit Event held in Atlantic City this past year. I held pocket tens on the big blind. There were two limpers to the small blind and the small blind called. I made a three times the blind raise from the big blind. I had two callers follow and we went to the flop. Flop came 10-10-A. I couldn't believe it. At the time I was second in chips and one of the other two left in the hand was the chip leader. Thoughts of playing in the Circuit Event began running through my head for a split second then I came back down to Earth and tried to figure out how to extract as much out of the chip leader as I could. I check to the chip leader who comes out with a half pot size bet. I put him on either a big pair or A-K. I decide to smooth call the bet and make him think I was much weaker then I was. On the turn came a meaningless 5. This is when things got interesting. I decide to open the betting after the turn with a half pot size bet. The guy still in the hand doesn?t hesitate and pushes All-in. Of course I follow his chips into the pot without hesitation. The guy fanatical finding out that his pocket aces making Aces full of tens had been topped by my pocket tens. My ecstasy soon became horror when on the river, you guessed it, the case ace.
I am eliminated from the event holding quad tens.

By far my worst poker moment but...My Best Bad Beat.

Bad beat AA vs KK

/ posted by Poker Star @ 4:16 PM

You may not believe me, but I got witnesses after witnesses. Playing 6 handed in a tournament at a local bar, I get dealt AA in Small blind. I made a raise 3x the bb when it got back around to me.
One caller.
Flop is AKK. Yes I flopped top boat.
I check, he checks behind me, blank on the turn.
I bet the pot, he just calls.
Blank on the river.
I bet half the pot, he raises me all in.

I sit for a while and say: I think you have four kings. Then folded.

He flips over KK.

My Bad Beat

/ posted by Poker Star @ 4:14 PM

Its was a live tourney we play everyweek with about 30 people, the tourney started at 7:30 and the first hand delt at the tourney I was delt pokets 66's I raised 4 times the blind and I had 2 callers.

The flop was 6,8,8 I was on the gun and i raised 5 times the blind one caller folded and the other called. I was hoping he had one 8 or a higher poket pair that was on the board then came the turn with was a Q then I bet the pot he just calls, the river was 6 so now I have 6,6,6,6 so I make another bet and I get a reraise and I got all in with my quad 6's and with pride I turn them up and was begining to pull in my chips when he turns up 8,8,8,8. I was in shock could believe it I was out the first hand of the tourney and with quad 6's!

My "Baddest" Beat

/ posted by Poker Star @ 4:12 PM

This was a few months ago on AP. I had pocket eights, and the flop was 8-8-Q.

Another player was holding Q-Q and was overjoyed with his boat. We both slowplayed, confident of victory. The river card was a Q, he went all in and I called. Bummer! Other players tried to console me!! I needed it.

That?s gambling, Farmpsych
