Absolute Poker's Bad Beat Jackpot Payouts Top $14 Million

Absolute Poker players profit from over $14 million in Bad Beat Jackpot payouts

Miami, FL (PRWeb) August 17, 2008 - Absolute Poker today released a report outlining total payouts at its popular Bad Beat Jackpot tables. Since the leading online poker site first introduced the game in June 2007, online poker players have profited from $14,172,787.62 million in jackpot money. Over $7 million has been claimed this year alone.

All figures take into account the money doled out to players after each Bad Beat Jackpot was hit. Any money won through regular table play at Bad Beat Jackpot tables was not included in the calculation of the year-to-date total.

The data includes Absolute Poker’s largest-ever Bad Beat Jackpot win that topped out at nearly a million dollars. On June 22nd, an online poker player from California made Texas Hold’em history when he hit a $996,115.28 jackpot while seated at one of Absolute Poker’s Bad Beat Jackpot tables.

Absolute Poker is paying players for their losing hands and Texas Hold’em fans from around the world are flocking to the site for the chance to pop the life-changing jackpot and profit from a brutal bad beat.

Bad Beat Jackpot is just like regular Texas Hold’em but with a slight twist. If a player loses a Texas Hold’em hand holding four 8s or anything better while seated at a Bad Beat Jackpot table, they’ll win a large piece of the Bad Beat Jackpot. The winner of the hand, the participants in the online poker hand and players seated at Bad Beat Jackpot tables with the same stakes also share in the jackpot.

To help the jackpot build, $0.50 is collected from qualifying hands at Bad Beat Jackpot tables.
